The importance of digitalization was emphasized by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in his Address to the People of Kazakhstan titled “Kazakhstan in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Current Challenges and Their Solutions Through Fundamental Digital Transformations.”

The Head of State noted that universities should become centers of education and research in the fields of digitalization and artificial intelligence, and that their main task is to nurture a new generation of specialists who think technologically and are capable of creating innovations.

In support of the President’s initiative, Toraighyrov University widely celebrated Digitalization Day. The event was organized with the support of Pavlodar Hub and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The agenda covered key topics in digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and innovation. The program consisted of four main tracks: AI and Machine Learning, the Code&Control Hackathon, Toraighyrov University Digital Platforms, and the IT Startup Competition “Startup Battle.”

Participants of the dialogue platform were welcomed by ToU Rector Nurlan Medetov, who emphasized the importance of digitalization for the economic and scientific development of the country. The event was also attended by representatives of major regional partner companies, including Solid Group, KSP Steel, KazTransOil JSC, Eurasian Energy Corporation JSC, NC KazAvtoZhol JSC, and other organizations.

The workshop “How to Use AI Correctly in Industry?” and the seminar “The Ethics of Machine Learning: Beyond Accuracy Toward Responsibility” were held with the participation of Amir Mosavi, a professor at Óbuda University (Hungary) and a renowned expert in artificial intelligence. In his presentation, the professor addressed issues related to the effective application of artificial intelligence in industry and ethical responsibility.

A Code&Control hackathon was held among students, during which young specialists presented and defended their projects on automation system development. In addition, seminars on the SeDo, MOOK, and TOU Portal platforms were organized for university staff and faculty members.

As part of the fourth track, within the partnership between Pavlodar Hub and ToU, the IT startup competition “Startup Battle” was held, where young innovators presented their startup projects.

The event concluded with the ceremonial closing of Digitalization Day. The university administration expressed gratitude to all participants and partners. Digitalization Day at ToU became an important event that brought together modern knowledge and technologies and paved the way for the implementation of new ideas.
