The staff of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of ToU honored the memory of police officer Farid Kakabaev, who died while doing his job 17 years ago.

In 2008, the district police officer of Kachirsky District Department of Internal Affairs Farid Kakabaev was pursuing an intruder. During the chase, the intruder climbed the fire escape to the roof of one of the village buildings and dropped a concrete slab lying there on the police officer. The law enforcement officer died in the hospital from  injuries.

On the eve of Gratitude Day,  Toraighyrov University students and teachers discussed the courage of Farid Kakabaev and his loyalty to the service. Among those who remembered the police officer was the hero's daughter, Salikha Kakabaeva, who is currently studying in Journalism. Employees of Pavlodar Police Department, who visited ToU, urged her to follow in her father's footsteps and get a job in law enforcement after graduating from the university.
