A "round table" with international participation "100th anniversary of the birth of the founder of the Department of Machines and Foundry Technology of Pavlodar Industrial Institute, Professor Moisey Druinsky" was held at Toraighyrov University as part of the 65th anniversary of the university.

The event was attended by the head of the Aktobe Ferroalloy Plant, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Yerzhan Abdulabekov, chief metallurgist of  Aksu Ferroalloy Plant Kirill Yantsen, chief researcher of the Institute of Metallurgy of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Vladimir Zhuchkov, deputy director for science of the Institute of Metallurgy of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Technical Sciences,, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Oleg Zayakin, aksakals and employees of the engineering faculty of Toraighyrov University.

 At the round table, the guests discussed the role of Moisei Druinsky in the development of the department, the university, scientific research and industrial production of ferroalloys in Kazakhstan.

During his years as the chief engineer of EFP (1962–1980), Moisei Druinsky fulfilled a historic mission: the creation of the world's largest ferroalloy plant and the early development of its design capacity. In addition, in 1980, the scientist was the first head of the newly opened Department of Foundry Machines and Technology (FMT) of  Pavlodar Industrial Institute (PII).

Currently, the Department of Metallurgy continues its successful scientific and educational activities: it trains personnel for the metallurgical industry of the Pavlodar region and Kazakhstan as a whole at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels;  theses are defended at its own dissertation council for awarding a PhD degree;  conducts scientific research on grant and contractual projects worth more than 450 million tenge.
