A seminar "Innovative educational programs: development and implementation experience" started at Toraighyrov University. The dialogue platform will work for four days.
The organizers of the open methodological seminar were ToU, the Bologna Process and Academic Mobility Center of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and BTS-Education. Welcoming more than 120 participants, Rector of Toraighyrov University Yerkin Sadykov noted the importance of updating the portfolio of educational programs. That is why the university took part in the implementation of the regional Atlas of new professions. Today, on its basis, two innovative educational programs are taught.
Olzhas Mamyrbaev,a project manager at BTS-Education, emphasized that widespread digitalization has led to the fact that many specialties are becoming irrelevant today. According to the speaker, the manager-operators and cashiers will not be needed very soon. That is why universities simply need to learn how to develop innovative educational programs and implement them in the educational process.
Marina Skiba, a well-known specialist in the field of education, said that the experience of developing innovative educational programs that will be shared during the methodological seminar. She stated that new developments should be aligned with the regional characteristics of universities and their mission.
On the very first day, an expert session was held at the dialogue platform, at which participants proposed ways to solve several problems that are relevant for Kazakhstan universities. For example, in order to leave talented young people to study in the regions, universities were offered to actively introduce double-degree education programs, according to which students could study abroad for one or two semesters. As an option to involve employers in the development of innovative educational programs, the scientific community suggested initiating scientific projects to solve specific problems in production.
After the session, two excursions were arranged for the participants of the seminar. One group got acquainted with the infrastructure of Toraighyrov University, and the other, visited museums and iconic locations in Pavlodar.
The workshop will continue until September 17th. During this time, there will be a "round table" on the role of education in the development of Kazakhstan, several interactive and practice-oriented sessions.
