Over 60 scientists from universities of Russia, Europe, Canada, Great Britain and the USA visit S. Toraighyrov PSU within the framework of the Attraction of Foreign Teaching Specialists to HEIs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Program annually.

The University hosted a series of lectures and seminars given by Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor of Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia Valery Anatolyevich Yefremov under the program. 

Herzen University is one of the Russian Federation’s leading universities. In 2014 the University was included in the list of the best higher education institutions of the Commonwealth of Independent States according to the International Group of Rating Agencies.

Valery Anatolyevich Yefremov is a scholar of international renown, he is famous across Russia and abroad. Valery Anatolyevich is a specialist in the sphere of speech culture and lexicology, gender, cognitive and juridical linguistics. He is the co-author of university textbooks, “The Russian Language and Speech Culture” and “Rhetoric”, of university and college books, “The Russian Language and Speech Culture”, the author of an educational and methodical guidebook “The Fundamentals of Gender Linguistics” used in the educational process of the Russian Federation’s HEIs.

V. A. Yefremov actively publishes his works in the following central scientific and scientific-methodical journals: Russkaya Rech (the Russian Speech), Mir Russkogo Slova (the World of the Russian Word), Russkiy Yazyk v Shkole (the Russian Language at Schools) and Russkaya Slovesnost (the Russian Language Arts).

The activity of V. A. Yefremov is not confined to science and teaching. He has been co-hosting the What Do You Call this in Russian? cultural and educational radio program at the Radio of Russia – Saint Petersburg since 2005, where the issues of speech culture, the history and current state of the Russian language are discussed.

The Russian professor delivered lectures and seminars in Philological Analysis of a Text at S. Toraighyrov PSU.

According to V. A. Yefremov, he was positively impressed by students and the University. Modalities for further cooperation between S. Toraighyrov PSU and Herzen University were defined during his visit.
