A quiz “Achieving Consent through Knowledge” was held at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University as part of Spiritual Consent Day celebration.

The event was organized by the Regional Scientific and Practical Center for Interethnic and Interreligious Processes Research and the Department of Philosophy, Social and Human Disciplines of the University.

Students of eight faculties of S. Toraighyrov PSU competed in the following five rounds: a visiting card, rapid-fire questions, brainstorming, a literary musical contest and a home task.

The competition evaluated students’ level of proficiency in legislative and statutory and regulatory enactments, governing issues of the ethno-confessional sphere, and erudition in the sphere of the history of Spiritual Consent Day celebration in Kazakhstan and roles and structures of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan. In the course of the presentation of the ethno-confessional consent model of Kazakhstan, students demonstrated their vocal, poetic and dance skills.

According to the director of the Regional Scientific and Practical Center for Interethnic and Interreligious Processes Research N. S. Tyshkanova, the competition was aimed at strengthening ethno-confessional consent and tolerant culture, and anti promoting religious extremism. “Spiritual Consent Day symbolizes spirituality, morality, tolerance and mutual understanding. And that is the basis of stability and prosperity of our state today,” said Nurzhamal Sagadatovna.

Regarding the quiz results an honorary first-place award was given to the team of the Faculty of Architecture and Construction. The students were presented with the 30,000 tenge prize established by the “Poloniya” Ethnocultural Association of Pavlodar oblast.

A second-place award was given to the students of the Faculty of Humanities and Education. The team of the Faculty of Public Administration, Business and Law won a third-degree diploma. Second and third place awards winners were presented with ticket packages of the Kazakh Music and Drama Theatre named after Zh. Aymautov, the Drama Theatre named after Anton Chekhov and the Oblast Philharmonic from the head of the Department of Culture, Archives and Documentation of Pavlodar oblast Aynur Sarsenbayeva.

Besides this, the Faculty of Architecture and Construction was given the Audience Choice Award established by the head of the Department of Religious Affairs of Pavlodar oblast Daulet Zakaryanov. According to the deputy head of the Division of Information Analytical Activity, Coordination and Implementation of Youth Initiatives of the Department for Youth Policy Issues of Pavlodar oblast Zhuldyz Maldybayeva, the Faculty of Metallurgy, Machine Building and Transport was honored as “The Most Active Faculty”. Ablaykhan Sarsenbayev, the student of the Faculty of Metallurgy, Machine Building and Transport, was recognized as the most active fan.
