An Italian opera diva, a prizewinner of international competitions, the professor of the State Conservatory “G. Rossini” Yevgeniya Dundekova, (Pesaro, Italy), is conducting master classes for graduate and postgraduate students at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.

The master classes are held under the program of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan on attraction of foreign scholars.

Having rich scenic experience, Ms. Dundekova has visited many countries, where apart from giving performances she also has shared her unique skills and knowledge and participated as a jury member in many competitions.

The head of the Department of Performing Arts of S. Toraighyrov PSU Daniyar Mergaliyev has drawn attention to the fact that the visit of the highly qualified opera singer makes it possible for students to assay their strength, to determine strong and weak points of their performing skills and also to receive personal advice from the word-class professional. “The master classes of Yevgeniya Dudenkova represent the one-of-a-kind program, as she conducts them in Pavlodar exclusively for PSU students. The master classes are conducted in a warm and friendly atmosphere and are built on mutual trust, which helps students objectively identify their creative potential and determine the direction of their further development,” said Daniyar Mergaliyevich.

Talking about students, Ms. Dundekova has noted that they are still too young, but, in spite of this, they love music, which, in her opinion, is the most important in their occupation.

According to the professor, it is not enough to sing with abandon, great attention should be paid to vocal technique and voice training, so that an artist could sing without a microphone. “Even having mainly a pop repertory, a singer should appreciate classical singing and not discount the importance of voice training, which helps him or her keep the singing voice healthy,” said Yevgeniya Antonovna.

Yevgeniya Dundekova is very glad that she has managed to come to Pavlodar for the second time; she has noted that Kazakhstanis are open-hearted people.

Lectures of Professor Dundekova have high student attendance rates. In the opinion of participants, the master classes of the Italian opera diva have given them opportunity to see the performing arts through the prism of the world-class classical singing.
