Rector of S. Toraighyrov PSU, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Serik Omirbayev and Director of the Department of Science and Innovation, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Nurken Kuzembayev attended international workshops held at the National University of Singapore (Singapore) and Berkeley University in California (USA) under the Program for University Management Training and Professional Development.
The professional development course for university management was developed by the Graduate School of Education of Nazarbayev University and the British Foundation for Leadership in Higher Education.
The purpose of the project is to develop leadership skills of management members of national, state and private universities for effective work under the conditions of restructuring the educational system of the country.
The course consists of three modules: case study, discussions, and work on a team project. The program is focused on the problems of higher education institutions autonomy, strategic planning, corporate governance and university management, including the systematic, external, institutional and personal aspects of leadership.
Rector of S. Toraigyrov Pavlodar State University, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Serik Omirbayev attended a training workshop held at the National University of Singapore. The workshop was organized specifically for senior management of Kazakhstan universities by the Ministry of Education and Science, International Academy of Business, and Singapore Management University. The workshop was devoted to financial management procedures, personnel policy, autonomy model of the National University of Singapore, reforms and innovative action methods in the education sector of Singapore with particular reference to the School of Public Policy named after Lee Kuan Yew.
Director of the Department of Science and Innovation of S. Toraighyrov PSU, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Nurken Kuzembayev attended a training workshop at Berkeley University, California, USA. The workshop addressed such problems as organizational structure and management of the university, the structure and funding of academic research, as well as evaluation of the quality of academic programs offered by universities. At the end of the event, there was a closing ceremony where all participants of the workshop received certificates.
