S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University held a celebration of the Day of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technology.
The Faculty has three departments: Mathematics and Informatics, Physics and Instrumentation, and Computers and Programming.
This year the Faculty celebrates its 11th anniversary. Since the moment of its establishment, the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technology has achieved some positive results.
The event began with a presentation of the video about the Faculty in which the Dean of the Faculty, Heads of Departments, and winners of the Republican Academic Olympics in Physics congratulated the students and academic staff members on the Day of the Faculty. Professor of the Department of Mathematics and Informatics of S. Toraighyrov PSU, an honorary citizen of Lebyazhye area Meyram Khamitov told about the importance of physical and mathematical education, urged students to be diligent in their studies, appreciate student friendship, and always take an active position in life.
The event was also attended by prospective students from Pavlodar schools, alumni of different years, academic staff members, students and their parents.
Members and students of the Faculty take an active part in various competitions, contests and sport games. The team of students majoring in Physics took the first place in the VI Republican Academic Olympics in Physics held in Aktobe with participants from 11 regional universities. Every year members of the Faculty take part in the University-wide sports event called “Health Is a Great Wealth” (kaz. Денсаулық - зор байлық) and win prizes. At this year's event, the Faculty team won the first prize, and was awarded a diploma and the PSU Rector's Cup.
After the official part of the celebration program, the Dean of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technology, Candidate of Physico-mathematical Sciences Nurlybek Ispulov presented letters of appreciation to students' parents, academic and auxiliary staff members, Bachelor's and Master's degree students for achievements in the academic, research and public life of the Faculty.
Students of the Faculty presented concert performances. The performance by Amsterdam (a KVN team) gave a lot of positive emotions to the audience.
