S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University held a meeting with prospective students in Ekibastuz.

In response to the idea of guaranteeing technical education for young people expressed by the President of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev, Pavlodar State University held a large-scale event in the largest industrial center of the region, the economic potential of which goes far beyond the region and the country.

780 prospective students, their parents and teachers met the University administration, representatives of the Faculties, and the executive secretary of the admissions board.

Vice-rector for Development Strategy, Education and Social Affairs of S. Toraighyrov PSU, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Arman Akishev told about some specific aspects of academic and educational work, cultural and social life of the University.

Dean of the Foundation Faculty, Candidate of Pedagogic Sciences, Associate Professor Ayzhan Kuderina told about the specialties offered by the University, peculiarities and benefits of studying at PSU, admission rules and deadlines.

Sakanov, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Philology, Faculty of Humanities and Education, Candidate of Philological Sciences Natalya Krylova, Associate Professor of the Department of History of Kazakhstan, Faculty of History and Law, Candidate of Historical Sciences Aliya Moldakimova, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Finance and Economics, Candidate of Economic Sciences Aynash Nurgaliyeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Biology and Ecology, Faculty of Chemical Technology and Natural Sciences, Candidate of Biological Sciences Aynagul Ospanova.

PSU representatives introduced the audience to the history of the University, its educational opportunities, told about the rules for admission in 2014, and some specific aspects of the upcoming entrance examinations.

Natalya Tomashevskaya, a third year student of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Natural Sciences, shared her impressions of taking part in the Academic Mobility program offered by the University.

During the event, prospective students saw a video about Pavlodar State University.

The best members of the Student Philharmonic of PSU helped create the right atmosphere for the occasion: soloist Asel Kulzhanova, vocal duet Melody, KVN team Pavlodar Zhastar Kuramasy, and dance studio Ak Yerke deserved ovations from the audience.

Deputy Akim of Ekibastuz for Social Affairs Aygul Mardanova thanked the representatives of S. Toraighyrov PSU for organization of the event, vivid performances and useful information for the local prospective students. The meeting was also attended by the Acting Head of the Department of Education of Ekibastuz Nurzhamal Makumova.

Such meetings help school-leavers choose their future profession. Not only can they learn about the history of the University and its departments, admission details, but also meet the leading academics of the University and ask them any questions. Prospective students were able to get individual consultations and also received booklets with detailed information about the departments and specialties.
