An advanced training course titled “Religious Literacy and Cultural Tolerance as Tools for Preventing the Involvement of Students in Destructive Religious Organizations” has been launched at Toraighyrov University.

The program is implemented within the framework of Project No. 257/ГФ 24–26/8, IRN AR 23484991, “Enhancing Cultural Tolerance and Religious Literacy of Youth in the Context of Modernizing Public Consciousness in Contemporary Kazakhstan.”

The training is delivered in both online and offline formats. The course was developed by the project working group, which includes Candidates of Philosophical Sciences Maira Kozhamzharova and Gaukhar Akhmetova, PhD Saltanat Aubakirova, and Master of Humanities Ainash Mazhitova. The main goal of the program is to enhance educators’ knowledge in religious studies, develop professional competencies, and provide practical support in fostering religious literacy among students.

The participants were addressed by Daulet Zakaryanov, a member of the Republican Information and Outreach Group, who delivered a report on the contemporary religious landscape of Kazakhstan. The project leader, Professor Maira Kozhamzharova, also presented a report highlighting the role of religious education in promoting tolerance.

Upon completion of the course, participants will receive certificates of the established standard.
