The international scientific-practical conference “Prospects for the Development of Horse Breeding in Kazakhstan and Neighboring Countries” was held in Ekibastuz. It was organized by Toraighyrov University and the Pavlodar Region Horse Breeders Association.
The dialogue platform was opened by the First Deputy Akim of Pavlodar Region, Serik Batyrguzhinov, who emphasized the importance of the horse breeding sector for the agricultural industry, both regionally and nationally. In his speech, Rector of Toraighyrov University Nurlan Medetov noted that the university actively participates in the scientific support of breeding and production work aimed at the development of domestic horse breeding.
The dialogue platform brought together over 100 leading scientists, zootechnicians, and specialists from Kazakhstan, the United Kingdom, Mongolia, Russia, and other countries. Among them were Professor Denis Larkin from the Royal Veterinary College in London, Professor Saipolda Tokhtorbay from the Mongolian University of Natural Sciences, prominent Kazakh academicians Dastanbek Baimukanov and Nabidolla Kikebaev, Head of the Research Institute of Horse Breeding and Feed Production Alibek Bazargaliev, Professor Kairat Iskhan from the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, Doctor of Biological Sciences Indira Beyshova from Zhangir Khan University, and others.
With the support of the Akim of Ekibastuz, Ayan Beysekin, a purebred horse exhibition of productive breeds was held at the Anara farm. It featured the best representatives of the Kazakh breed of the Zhabe type, Mugalzhar, and Novoaltai breeds. The participants’ attention was particularly drawn to the speech of Nurzhan Ashimbetov, a Member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who highlighted the importance of food security and the need to expand the domestic and export markets for horse meat.
The conference became an important platform for exchanging scientific achievements and practical experience. Experts discussed current issues in breeding, genetic research, digitalization of the industry, and improving pasture utilization efficiency.
At the conclusion of the event, a ceremony was held to honor leading scientists and horse breeders who have made a significant contribution to the development of the industry. Conference participants were awarded Certificates of Honor and Letters of Appreciation from the Akim of Pavlodar Region, Letters of Appreciation from the Pavlodar Regional Maslikhat, Toraighyrov University medals, badges from the Industry Professional Union of Agricultural Workers “Enbek Danky” of I, II, and III degrees, Certificates of Honor from the “Auyl” party, as well as awards from the Pavlodar Region Horse Breeders Association.
