Toraighyrov University hosted a roundtable dedicated to environmental issues in the energy sector.

The meeting was opened by Olzhas Talipov, Dean of the Faculty of Energy. He reminded attendees that by 2060, Kazakhstan aims to transition to carbon-free technologies and highlighted key industry challenges, including aging networks, significant energy losses during transmission, and others. Addressing these issues is currently the focus of research at ToU, as also emphasized by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his recent Address to the People of Kazakhstan.

Participants of the roundtable included foreign scientists who recently joined Toraighyrov University: Miroslav Kravka from the Czech Republic and Alperen Tozlu from Turkey. Representatives of the university’s social partner, PromAnalyt, João Nascimento and Evgeny Komandirov, presented their projects. The meeting also featured a presentation by environmental engineer Maria Isaeva from EON Energo LLP. Following the presentations, energy scientists and environmental experts discussed current industry challenges and possible solutions.
