Toraighyrov University hosted the scientific and practical week “Sustainable Tourism Development and Carbon Footprint Reduction,” organized within the framework of the state-funded research project on implementing sustainable tourism principles in Pavlodar Region.

The program included public lectures by guest professor Alexandra Novikova-Rodi from the Institute for Climate Protection, Energy and Mobility (IKEM) and Toraighyrov University professor Alexander Bely, focusing on global climate change, decarbonization, and Kazakhstan’s climate policy. The lectures sparked lively interest among students and specialists, fostering scientific dialogue.

During the week, the conference “Sustainable Tourism in Pavlodar Region” was also held, where modern approaches to assessing sustainable tourism, reducing the region’s carbon footprint, and implementing the regional PRoST standard project were discussed. Practical cases and recommendations for developing sustainable tourism and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises were presented.
