Memorandums of cooperation were signed with North China Electric Power University and Lanzhou University. In addition, ToU joined the “One Belt, One Road” University Alliance.

The agreements between the universities of the two countries were signed on the sidelines of the VIII International University Energy Conference of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the “One Belt, One Road” University Alliance. The head of Toraighyrov University agreed on active cooperation with Bi Tianshu, President of North China Electric Power University, and Ma Xiaojie, Party Committee Secretary of Lanzhou University. The memorandums signed in China provide for the implementation of international academic and research programs, including academic mobility of students, scientific internships for faculty members and young researchers, and joint research projects.

Nurlan Medetov also signed a cooperation document with Asian universities as part of the “One Belt, One Road” University Alliance. The rector of Toraighyrov University discussed prospects for collaboration with foreign colleagues in Dunhuang during the international cultural exhibition “Silk Road.” The partnership will cover personnel training, research, establishment of new research laboratories, and the integration of international experience into academic programs.

In addition, the ToU delegation participated in a meeting discussing initiatives in new energy and carbon neutrality, as well as the role and prospects of artificial intelligence in international university cooperation. Speakers included scholars from Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Australia, Scotland, Russia, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and other countries. On behalf of Toraighyrov University, the event was attended by the Director of the International Office, Bibigul Akshulakova, and the Head of the Department of Thermal Power Engineering, Professor Amangeldy Karmanov.
