The dialogue of university representatives from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries took place last week in Beijing.

The conference was attended by representatives from universities in Kazakhstan, China, Russia, and Uzbekistan. The meeting was hosted by the North China Electric Power University, and Lu Jinsun, Head of the Special Committee on Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality of the China Society for Electric Power Development, also delivered a report.

In his speech, Toraighyrov University Rector Nurlan Medetov emphasized the development of the Pavlodar region and outlined its key growth areas: industry, mechanical engineering, and both traditional and innovative energy sectors. The ToU Rector highlighted the university’s role in preparing specialists for the energy sector and called on partner universities to strengthen cooperation and implement joint projects.

The ToU delegation visited an international center engaged in the production of building materials, integrated photovoltaics, construction projects, as well as environmental protection and restoration initiatives.
