Representatives of ToU took part in the international forum “Eurasian Silver Forum: Active Longevity and Education 50+”, held at L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The dialogue platform focused on the development of the “Silver Universities” movement.

The forum was attended by Kazakhstan’s Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek; President of the International Association of Universities of the Third Age (AIUTA) and Professor at the University of Toulouse François Vellas; AIUTA Board Member and Director of the University of the Third Age at the University of Economics in Bratislava, Professor Janka Sebera Hladecka; Rector of Kokshetau University named after Sh. Ualikhanov; President of the Kazakhstan Association of Silver Universities Marat Syrlybayev; and representatives of other universities.

Within the dialogue platform, ToU presented its initiatives in education for older adults. Rector Nurlan Medetov expressed readiness to contribute to the development of the Silver Universities program and to participate in international research and educational projects in this field.

Following the forum, a memorandum of cooperation between AIUTA and ToU was signed. In the near future, Toraighyrov University will join the Kazakhstan Association of Silver Universities, marking another important step toward supporting active longevity, serving society, lifelong learning, and an inclusive society.
