On the opening day of the dialogue platform, an extended plenary session was held.

First, Toraighyrov University faculty were welcomed by Gulzhan Zharasova, Deputy Chair of the Committee for Higher and Postgraduate Education. She highlighted the challenges currently facing universities and encouraged everyone to participate in projects implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Rector of ToU, Nurlan Medetov, noted that the admission of more than three thousand students in the new academic year places great responsibility on all staff, as it is essential to provide each student with the highest quality education. To achieve this, Toraighyrov University has taken a course on enhancing the competencies of faculty members and other staff.

“Today, the most important thing in our work is the quality of education we provide,” emphasized the Chairman of the Board of the university. “Society closely observes scholars and questions the impact of their work. Moreover, we must ensure that ToU graduates are truly in demand in the labor market. All of this is impossible without continuous development of human capital and improvements in our work.”

Reports at the plenary session were also presented by Renat Nurgozhin, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs; Nurlan Erzhanov, Vice-Rector for Research and Commercialization; and Nariman Mapitov, Head of the Office for Strategy and Quality Management Systems. A specially invited guest of the summer school was Akmaral Smagulova, Head of the «Абай және ұлттық руханият» (Abai and National Spirituality) Center at Shakarim University. Her presentation focused on the educational and developmental concept of «Толық адам» (Tolyk Adam / Whole Person) and its implementation in modern conditions.

The summer school will continue with panel thematic sessions aimed at improving staff qualifications, studying modern teaching methods, and creating an effective communication platform.
