The rector of TOU, Nurlan Medetov, participated in the ThaiCER forum dedicated to educational research in Thailand.

The international platform, Thailand International Conference on Education Research, was held from August 7 to 9. In Bangkok, the final session of the Southeast Asian Teacher Education Programme (SEA-TEP) also took place.

SEA-TEP is an international project aimed at improving the training of pedagogical staff in STEM education. The program has been implemented in Kazakhstan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Cambodia with the support of Chevron Corporation and coordinated by SEAMEO STEM-ED.

Within the framework of the project, 60-hour online workshops based on NGSS standards were conducted, where over 600 teachers, under the guidance of Professor Joseph Krajcik from Michigan State University, mastered methods for integrating scientific and engineering practices into the educational process. During the meeting in Bangkok, the project results were presented, along with recommendations for integrating STEM approaches such as Claim-Evidence-Reasoning (CER) and modeling into curricula.

During the visit, future projects supported by Chevron were also discussed, and opportunities for strengthening academic cooperation with universities in Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia were explored.
