A training on the topic of "Freedom of Expression and Hate Speech in the Media and the Internet" was held at Toraighyrov University.

The speaker was media trainer Tatiana Golubtsova.

"Media literacy is a soft skill of the 21st century. It is important to understand that we are responsible for the information we post on our social media. It is very important to have media literacy. Our rights are connected with it, as we implement them in the media using information technologies," the speaker noted.

Tatyana Golubtsova spoke about the five laws of media literacy, the main concepts of media literacy, and also gave tips on fact-checking.

It is worth noting that the lecture was held as part of the People's Expedition of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan "The Road of Peace and Accord" with the participation of ethnocultural associations.

The expedition will visit the iconic historical and memorial sites of Kazakhstan, and its members will conduct classes on information and ethnopolitical literacy for young people.

The event is being implemented along two main routes: "Pavlodar - Semey - Oskemen" and "Kostanay - Kokshetau - Petropavl."
