Research work

In 2018 PhD, Associate Professor D. D. Yessimova was awarded a diploma for participation in the competition for research grants financed by the Fund of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Leader of the Nation. She is also the winner of the grant and the title “2014 Best University Teacher of the Ministry of Education and Science”, the holder of the Bolashak scholarship for the internship “Management in the field of education” taking place at Berlin Technical University (March-April, 2016).

Over the current academic year, the teaching staff members of the Department have carried out the following works:

Two monographs have been issued, 7 teaching aids have been developed, 35 articles have been published, 11 of them are written in the state language and 18 of them are published in foreign scientific periodicals.

Five research findings have been implemented into the educational process and three of them have been implemented into production lines.

The Department together with Altai State University (Russia, Barnaul) has developed a joint master’s degree program in the field of Tourism that has been successfully approved since 2014.

The XIX international scientific conference of young scientists, students and schoolchildren “Satpayev Readings” was attended by 12 students, 7 master’s degree students and 1 teacher.

On October 25, 2018, the student team representing the Tur - 401, Tur - 301, Tur - 201, Tur - 101 and Tur - 102 “Samaya Vyshka” received the diploma of the winner of the compeititon “Tourism, Algha!” dedicated to the World Tourism Day (third overall winner).

On December 04, 2018, students of the Department of Geography and Tourism were awarded a diploma for active participation in the competition “Strong Leader, Successful Youth” dedicated to the celebration of the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On March 01, 2019, students of the Department of Geography and Tourism were awarded a first place diploma for active participation in the Regional Subject Olympiad in Geography.

Diana Ayazbayeva, a year one student majoring in Geography (the G-101), and Zhazira Yermekesh, a year one student majoring in Tourism (the Tur-102), were awarded a certificate for participation in the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference on “Reasoning, Endurance and Diligence in the Successful Implementation of the Program Article “Spiritual Renewal”” (Semipalatinsk).

Diana Ayazbayeva, a year one student majoring in Geography (the G-101), and Zhazira Yermekesh, a year one student majoring in Tourism (the Tur-102), were awarded a diploma for high performance in the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference on “Reasoning, Endurance and Diligence in the Successful Implementation of the Program Article “Spiritual Renewal”” (Semipalatinsk).

On March 27, 2009, the student team “Ertis Team” representing the G-302 (Anna Tishchenko), G-201 (Zarema Shomit) and G-201 (Madina Sergazinova) was awarded a third place diploma recognizing its high performance in the XI Republican Student Subject Olympiad for students majoring in 5B060900 Geography held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Almaty).
