Research work (R&D), along with the educational process, is one of the important components of the activities of the teaching staff, students and undergraduates of the Department of Zootechnology, Genetics and Breeding.
The research work of students is organized and conducted under the guidance of the teaching staff of the department. Students actively participate in scientific research, traveling directly to the farms of the region. The knowledge gained in theory is successfully implemented in practice. Field practices are conducted in the leading farms of the Pavlodar region. On the basis of the obtained data, graduation groups draw up diploma projects, the topics of which cover the actual problems of animal science in relation to the specifics of farms of the Pavlodar region and other regions of Kazakhstan.
Students of the TPPJ-302 group Boryakina Darya and Mukhtar Nurtileu, as well as a student of the TPPJ-402 group Bosch Eduard participated in the XIV Republican Subject Olympiad among students of higher education organizations on OP 5B080200/6B08201 – "Technology of livestock products production" at the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (Almaty). Daria Baryakina took 3rd place and was awarded a diploma.
A student of the MSHOOT-101 group, Ibraev Bekzat, and a graduate student of the MTPPJ-22n group, Uakhyt Alemgul, participated in the Republican Student Research work.
Students of the 3rd year, in particular, a student of the MSHOOT - 301 group Tashenova Almira took part and won the 1st place in the section "Young scientists, undergraduates and students" "Animal Husbandry" in the scientific and practical conference "XXI Satbayev okulary", a student of the MSHOOT - 301 group Nagashbai Gulzhanar, Dzhanzakova Aruzhan – 2nd place.
The scientists of the department also cooperate with the enterprise, conduct scientific support of the branches of agriculture of the enterprise.
The main areas of research conducted by students are:
• Providing scientific support for breeding and breeding work with a herd of Kazakh short-tailed semi-rough-haired breed (intra-breed type "Bayys";
Rendering of services on scientific support of selection and breeding work with a horse herd of the Kazakh breed.;
• Provide services on scientific support, creation of a breeding herd, improvement of breeding and productive qualities of the bred Kazakh breed of horses of the Toad type;
• Provision of services for scientific support of breeding work of dairy and dairy-meat cattle, claiming to be assigned the status of animals of the 1st breeding category;

An agreement was concluded on joint activities for the implementation of applied scientific research in the field of agro-industrial complex for 2021-2023 under the budget program 267 "Increasing the availability of knowledge and scientific research" sub-program 101 "Program-targeted financing of scientific research and activities" on the specifics of 154 "Payment for research services" Contract No. 322/4 dated September 07, 2021.
