“The Assembly of People of Kazakhstan” Department in S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University

The Assembly of People of Kazakhstan has become the unique brand of our country, and we are proud that Nursultan Nazarbayev’s Model demonstrates for the whole world the model of peaceful co-existence of all the ethnic groups that live on the territory of Kazakhstan.

In accordance with the Strategy “Kazakhstan – 2050: A new policy of the established state”, S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University carries out systematic work of maintaining interethnic concord by setting the task of bringing-up new generations of highly tolerant Kazakhstani people, who consider the principles of national unity and social concord to be priority.

“The Assembly of People of Kazakhstan” Department Foundation

On March 1, 2014, in S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University there was founded “The Assembly of People of Kazakhstan” department. The foundation was confined to the remarkable date of March 1, 1995, on which a new institution – The Assembly of People of Kazakhstan – appeared on the social and political scene of our country.

“The Assembly of People of Kazakhstan” department is a public association in the structure of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University. It serves the necessary dialog platform, on the basis of which there are held scientific-and-expert councils and events, devoted to the analysis and study of intercultural relations and interethnic concord consolidation.

The Area of Focus of “The Assembly of People of Kazakhstan” Department

The department carries out scientific research in the following fields:

1. National idea «Мәнгілік ел» as the basis for unity and concord in the framework of “Kazakhstan 2050” strategy.

2. The essential principals of forming all-Kazakhstani culture.

3. Kazakhstan: ethnocultural origins and their interrelation.

To provide the program of the state national policy development the department aims at the following:

- working-out the theoretical and methodological supply of disciplines, connected with the realization of the state national policy; and also the development of the methodology of intercultural and interethnic interaction research;

- method supply of fundamental and applied scientific research to reinforce the main functions of the university: teaching, research, and public work;

- establishment of expert and scientific associations to synthesize scientific practice for the realization of joint fundamental projects;

- provision of complex approach to the research of interethnic relations in the framework of social, economic, political, and cultural processes, exclusion of isolation of the research in this field from the research in other fields of society and state life.

“The Assembly of People of Kazakhstan” department co-operates with all the departments of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University: Department of Science and Innovation, Educational Work and Social Affairs Department, students assembly “Бірлік”, and “The Library of the People of Kazakhstan”. It also co-operates with “The Assembly of People of Kazakhstan” department at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and the Secretariat of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan in Pavlodar region.

Co-operation with the Students Assembly “Бірлік”

Representatives of more than 30 nationalities study at the university and take an active part in the work of youth organizations and ethnocultural associations of the regional Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. Taking part in the realization of the focal points and priorities of the state national policy, the university has been making efforts over the whole history of our sovereign state to consolidate interethnic and interconfessional concord in and outside the region. In May 2007, on the basis of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, there was established a branch of the Little Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. The foundation of the regional branch of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan in the university promoted purposeful co-operation with the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan in the matters of bringing up students in the spirit of tolerance, patriotism, and interethnic concord.

On August 15, 2013, the branch was reorganized into the students assembly of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University and called “Бірлік”. Its activity is aimed at consolidating interethnic unity.

The following politically important events were organized: “We Live in One Family”, creation of the video clip “We are United”, show debates “Youth and religion”, etc.

“The Library of the People of Kazakhstan” Reading Room

In 2011 there was established the reading room “The Library of the People of Kazakhstan” as a part of the scientific library named after academician S. Beisembayev in S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University. Great attention in it is paid to the work with students, aimed at forming Kazakhstani patriotism, spreading the ideas of spiritual unity and interethnic concord, forming active life and civic viewpoint while establishing constitutional and democratic state, as well as studying and saving historic and cultural heritage.
