On October 30, the opening of the 12th annual international conference "Toraighyrov Readings" dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Toraighyrov University took place online.

 Rector of the university Meiram Begentayev made a welcoming speech.

 - In his works, Sultanmakhmut Toraighyrov considered ignorance to be one of the main vices of society.  With his reasoning on social justice and enlightenment, on the inevitable triumph of truth and human vocation, he urged us to show initiative and enterprise in order not to be left on the sidelines of progress.  His work is directed to the future, and the words he said more than years ago have become relevant today, - emphasized M. Begentayev.
 
    The conference was attended by international experts from 7 countries, including the UK, Spain, Canada and India.

 The speakers discussed topical issues of the global economy recovery and its sustainable development, providing access to high-quality online education, etc.

 In his speech, professor from Brunel University Abraham Althonayan noted that the development of the university is of great importance for the development of the entire region and Kazakhstan as a whole.

 “A huge role in the development of the university is played by the internationalization of the university, its international relations, and in this direction we have been successfully working together for a long time.  One of the main goals of the UN in the field of sustainable development is the development of international partnerships (Goal No. 17). I am always ready and will be very happy to continue our cooperation and will do my best to help your university increase its competitiveness in the international arena”, added the professor from the UK.
