S.Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University hosted a presentation of books published as part of the project “New Humanitarian Knowledge. 100 new textbooks in the Kazakh language”.

Within the framework of the project, the best textbooks of the world's leading universities in the field of history, philosophy, sociology, psychology, anthropology, cultural studies, religious studies, linguistics, media, economics, management and business from the original language are translated into Kazakh.

As Arman Akishev, Vice Rector on the development strategy, educational and social work of Pavlodar State University, professor, Doctor of Political Sciences noted, 18 first translated textbooks in the amount of 1,506 copies, including foreign monographs will be introduced into the education process from the new academic year

“The best world textbooks open for our students an opportunity to get acquainted with the advanced experience of scientific thought in the field of humanitarian disciplines. In addition, the status of the Kazakh language is strengthened, it is enriched with new terms and words, its influence as a language of science is growing”, Arman Aitmukhametovich said.

Head of the Department of Kazakh Language and Journalism, Ayman Zeynulina, Candidate of Philological Sciecnes, notes that textbooks such as “Language and Intercultural Communication”, “Media Ethics” and “General Linguistics” are very important for the students of the department. 

“For example, a Russian scientist, author of one of the books Svetlana Ter-Minasova in her work examines the study of foreign languages and notes that in order to master the language, you need to know its psychology, to study the world's picture of the people. Such developments are somewhat different from those we are accustomed to, which will positively affect the quality of the humanitarian education”, A. Zeynulina said.

It is worth noting that another 30 textbooks are planned to be translated for 2018.
