One Hour “20th anniversary of the formation of anti-corruption legislation”, devoted to issues of human decency and academic honesty was held at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.
The Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption in Pavlodar region together with the Department of education and higher educational institutions of the region were the organizers of the event.
Arman Akishev, Doctor of Political Sciences, Vice-rector for strategic development, educational and social work, Serik Bastemiev, Professor, Candidate of Juridical Sciences and Bulat Olzhabayev Associate Professor, Candidate of Juridical Sciences made an appeal to the younger generation
During the meeting there was a discussion of the issues of improving the legislation and implementing the already existing Anti-Corruption Strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2015-2025, the National Plan “100 concrete steps”, in addition, the history of fight against corruption in Kazakhstan was considered separately.
According to the organizers, the most important task in modern education should be the education of youth's rejection of corruption, as a fundamentally incompatible phenomenon with the values of the modern rule of law.
As Acting Head of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption in the Pavlodar region Gulmira Kabiyeva noted, following the assessment of the most authoritative rating organization Transparency International on the Corruption Perceptions Index, Kazakhstan improved its performance by 2 points and 9 positions for the last year.
