S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University hosted an evening dedicated to the poet Sergey Aleksandrovich Yesenin (1895-1925).
The event was held in the sector of fiction, and was organized by the club of book lovers "Inspiration" of scientific library named after Academician S. Beisembayev.
The students of the Department of Russian Philology in their speeches highlighted the life and creative ways of the poet. At the evening, all familiar, beloved lines of lyrical works and excerpts from poems sounded during the event.
A student of the Department of Russian Philology Albina Shamgunova noted that Sergey Aleksandrovich is a talented representative of Russian literature of the 20th century, a great poet, subtle and at the same time with a strong sense of justice and truth.
Sergey Yesenin started his career as a representative of peasant poetry, calling himself as “the last poet of the village”, but soon he moved beyond it, and his lyrics were enriched with new topics of homeland and friendship, love and betrayal, responsibility, as well as “black man” who is near the poet.
S. Yesenin's work is distinguished by a tremulous love for peasant life, a subtle attitude toward the animal world, melodiousness and clarity of thought. Many songs were written according to Sergey Yesenin's lines, some of them also sounded at the memory evening.
The librarian of the fiction sector Elena Likhanova noted that “great poets do not die”, they will live as long as they are remembered, loved and read.
During the event, books, poetry collections, poems by S. Yesenin were presented to the audience.
