At S.Toraighyrov PSU was held the Republican subject Olympiad on Russian language and literature among the students of universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

PSU was determined as the base institution for the Olympiad since brilliant victory of PSU students in 2015.

Aryn Orsariyev, Rector of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University in his welcoming speech noted the extraordinary role of trilingualism, which is now being actively promoted in all spheres and at all levels. "We are doing a particular emphasis on this, especially now, in the light of the new strategy of our university, namely, - the internationalization of the university, leadership and entrepreneurship development. We want our students to read in the original not only Mashkhur-Zhusup Kopeev, not only of Leo Nikolaievich Tolstoy, but also Charles Dickens and Oscar Wilde. "

Olympiad was held in two rounds: written assignments on Russian language and literature, and creative competition.

Team of Kazakhstan branch of the Lomonosov Moscow State University showed the highest score and won the deserved first place.

2nd place shared teams from S. Toraighyrov PSU and L.N Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Philologists of M. Utemisov West Kazakhstan State University had won third place.

Olympiad program was full of cultural events. For guests it was very interesting to visit museum of our countryman Pavel Vasilyev, museum of Marina Tsvetayeva. In the museum of Naum Shafer Olympiad participants could get acquainted with the unique collection of v and hear the living voice of the classics of the Silver Age of Russian poetry, the real voice of Yesenin and Mayakovsky.

In addition, in the days of the Olympiad, Krivoshapova T.V., doctor of philological sciences, professor of the Kazakhstan branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University conducted lectures on literature of Russian Modernism for students, graduates and faculty lecturers.
