Rector of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University Aryn Orsariyev has presented a new University development strategy for 2020 at an extended meeting of the Academic Council.

In this year the first stage of the current State Program of Education Development for 2011-2020 is near completion. At the present time the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan is developing a State Program of Education and Science Development for 2016-2019.

The first stage of the strategic plan of S. Toraighyrov PSU for 2011-2020 is coming to its end, and the 2020 Strategy has been drawn up in its stead.

A task group has been formed, which includes experienced foreign experts, among them is Director of the International Business Development Department of Brunel University Abraham Althonayan (Great Britain). He is a qualified specialist in the sphere of application of new education, management and leadership technologies in higher education and an international expert of the QS World University Rankings.

The strategic vision is that an internationally recognized and economically stable University having high academic and research reputation and preparing strongly competitive specialists will be created by 2020.

The strategic aim is to enter the list of the world’s top 500 universities in terms of QS World Universities Ranking by 2020.

Clear indicators have been defined to fulfill this objective. The strategy itself has been drawn up based on advanced managerial tools, namely a system of balanced scorecards and key performance indicators (KPI).

“We have decomposed our strategic vision for the University’s activity into clearly defined key performance indicators (KPI) used to measure the performance of each employee and student that are tied to a financial motivation system,” noted Aryn Amangeldinovich.

Thus, complex but very interesting work on implementation of the 2020 University development strategy will be initiated in 2016, the results of which will be aimed at making S. Toraighyrov PSU a household name of both domestic and world higher school. 

During the solemn meeting A. Orsariyev presented honorary certificates and letters of appreciation to scholars and employees of PSU for their labor achievements and contributions to development of the University and education.
