A solemn meeting dedicated to Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.
Rector of S. Toraighyrov PSU, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Aryn Orsariyev started the solemn event with his opening remarks.
“The State of the Nation Address of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. A. Nazarbayev “Kazakhstan in a New Global Reality: Growth. Reforms. Development.” sets tasks, which directly relate to HEIs of the country, in particular, our University, i.e. to improvement of innovative capacity of the state’s economy and the technical personnel training. Much has been done, but there is still much to do. And I am sure that our staff will perform the tasks honorably and will make a contribution to strengthening of our Independence,” noted Aryn Amangeldinovich.
Professor of Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy (the USA) Joseph Tham was one of honorable guests of the event.
Rector of S. Toraighyrov PSU presented participants with Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Y. Altynsarin badges, certificates of merit from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and maslikhat of Pavlodar oblast in the course of the solemn meeting. Then an awards ceremony was held to honor scholars and workers of the University for their long service and invaluable contributions to development of education and science. The student of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Akmaral Yelshin was awarded the Kalizhan Bekkhozhin scholarship.
The University organized an amazing gala concert featuring performances by Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerbol Aytbayev, young akyns, laureates of the republican aitys, the Annyon ensemble of the Korean ethno-cultural community of Pavlodar oblast, soloists of the student philharmonic and dancing groups of the oblast.
