The rector of S. Toraighyrov PSU Aryn Orsariyev expressed his confidence that cooperation between the two regional HEIs would make it possible to generalize and organize unique ethno-geographical data and materials of archeological excavations aimed at proving the existence of deep ties between Turkic ethnoses.
“We have known for many years that Altai is the cradle of civilization. This is proved by archaeological finds, which date the presence of a human in this region long before human remains have been found in other places. Besides this, the Turkic ethnos itself originated in Altai. Here, Turks reached unprecedented level of development, thereby giving birth to other civilizations, here, they created the Great Steppe. The program of our cooperation will make it possible to gain insight into deep ties between our ethnoses and to trace the common origin of Turks,” said Aryn Amangeldinovich.
The memorandum provides a number of arrangements that include a whole complex of joint scientific-ethnographic expeditions to Bayan-Ulgiy, Mongolia, and to Kosh-Agach village, the Altai Republic. Expeditions are aimed at studying the folklore and musical art of the named regions along with ethnography.
Students and the academic staff members of the Department of Russian Philology and the Department of Kazakh Philology, in their turn, will go on an expedition to trace the cultural code of the Turkic ethnos in the context of history, customs and traditions.
Future philosophers and culturologists of the University are going to work on the implementation of a joint project “The cultural heritage of Kazakhs in Altai region”.
