Arnott Fernokost and Laurens Katgerman delivered lectures for Master’s degree students at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.
S. Toraighyrov PSU and Dutch Academic Services have concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation under the second five-year plan of the State Program of Industrial and Innovative Development, which is aimed at strengthening of the cooperation in such spheres as attraction of the academic staff of top foreign HEIs, provision of consultative services by foreign experts, conduction of trainings and seminars by outstanding scientists (having a high h-index) and world’s leading experts in the field of oil refining, metallurgy, information technology, management, business planning, startups, inspection of educational programs and facilities and resources.
Arnott Fernokost has worked more than 35 years in Royal Dutch Shell, and now he assists Dutch Academic Services with the implementation of a university development project. Mr. Fernokost told that he had been to Kazakhstan for the first time and he was surprised by a warm welcome in Pavlodar. Arnott Fernokost has experience of working in the Czech Republic. In the seminar Mr. Fernokost discussed the role of today’s students in the future of any company. According to him, they are young helmsmen of the future. He was glad that the seminar evoked the most vivid and emotion-laden responses. It was also discussed how students might change their vision of the future and have an influence on it. The seminar focused on the issues of fresh thinking and innovations in the sphere of oil refining. Mr. Fernokost told with certainty that “there are high potential students among participants of the seminar, who will certainly succeed in the future”.
Undoubtedly, such close cooperation in the sphere of high technologies will make it possible for students to obtain unique knowledge and for S. Toraighyrov PSU to confirm its status as the regional science center once again.
