A mini-football tournament was held at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, its main prize was the Cup of Rector.

Professors and other academic staff members of the University fought for the cup.

The tournament was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Construction Marat Kuderin. Trying to arouse teams’ fighting spirit, Professor Kuderin wished everyone Victory. Once again Marat Krykpayevich drew legionnaires’ attention to the importance of living a productive and healthy life and instilling the value in students of PSU without compulsion.

The tournament was held in accordance with the mini-football rules differing from those of common football. But the prefix “mini” concealed something greater than expected. A real football battle, a men’s fight flamed up in two yards of the PSU stadium.

The battle was suspenseful; legionnaires of the Faculty of Metallurgy, Machine Building and Transport won the first-place prize. The footballers of the Faculty of Humanities and Education played very well. And they say “Humanitarians…” They won the 2nd place. The third-place award was given to the team of the University’s Facilities Operation and Maintenance Unit

“Vigorously fighting for the cup, all of you demonstrated mastership, fleetness and artfulness. The fact remains, all teams have fought honorably, but the penalty has decided the battle” said the president of the sport club “Sunkar” Zhaudat Ableyev.

It should be noted that the tournament was very well organized.

Tired but happy footballers congratulated each other with the victory. It has been proved once again that sport is vitally important in everyone’s life.

The event has demonstrated yet again that even mini-tournaments may forge great victories, the Victories of Friendship and Courage!
