The festive event dedicated to the International Day of Older Persons was held at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.
By tradition, the administration of the University, representatives of non-governmental organizations and veterans participated in the event.
Congratulating pensioners, the vice-rector for development strategy, educational and social affairs of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Arman Akishev has noted that instilling respect for elders in people and the live connection between generations are the matters of the utmost importance. “Today we are greeting our veterans. We are glad to see each of you staying in a good mood. We are very proud of you! And we would like to point out that many our scientific accomplishments were made during the golden age when you worked. We are grateful from the bottom of our hearts!” emphasized Arman Aytmukhametovich.
The council chair of the trade union committee of PSU Gulnar Shamshudinova and the chair of the University’s Veteran Council, Candidate of Engineering Sciences, professor of the Department of Mechanics and Oil and Gas Engineering Bari Gazizovich Zhanakhutdinov delivered a congratulatory speech to the audience.
The well-known area studies specialist of Pavlodar Priirtyshye, the honorary citizen of Pavlodar City, Candidate of Historical Sciences, a homefront worker Mariya Serafimovna Terenik warmly congratulated all invited veterans.
The celebration of the International Day of Older Persons became a good tradition at PSU. The annual event featured traditional performances by creative collectives and soloists of the University’s student philharmonic. Celebrating the occasion, members of the veteran community were provided with some financial assistance and were given flowers and memorable gifts.
