Members of PSU's Department of the History of Kazakhstan hold a series of public lectures on the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate entitled “Formation of the Kazakh Khanate: Scientific and Political Debate” at government organizations of the region.
These lectures are aimed at strengthening Kazakhstani patriotism and national spirit, popularizing the history of the Kazakh state and the Mangylyk Yel ideology.
Public lectures have already been held in the Department of Justice, State Revenue Department, the Prosecutor's Office, the Department of the National Security Committee and other organizations of Pavlodar region.
The lectures highlight such aspects as the historical basis for the establishment of the Kazakh Khanate, topical problems of state governance, national values as the basis of legal education, biys' role and place during the Khanate period, continuity and current problems of the state.
Many facts from the lectures aroused great interest in the audience, so the lectures were followed by lively discussions. Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Laura Zhusupova, who is an expert in the history of the Kazakh Khanate, emphasized the importance of civil servants' mission in Kazakhstan as the bearers of the state values and national ideology.
“The strengthening of our statehood begins with the Khanate, the system of governance that established the legal framework and united the nation. The celebration of the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate contributes to further strengthening of Kazakhstani patriotism,” said Laura Zhusupova.
Discussion of the history of the Kazakh state will continue at the international conference “Kazakh Khanate - Republic of Kazakhstan: Problems of Formation, Continuity and Development of the State” hosted by PSU in October.
