The students of the Architecture and Construction Faculty of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University have elaborated the project on the theme of “EXPOaul Conception” within the framework of the “Zhas Galym” Program.

The aim of the project is to draw up the concept of objects for placing guests of EXPO, taking the opportunity to demonstrate the culture and traditions of the country.

According to the dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Construction, doctor of technical sciences, professor Marat Kuderin, the students’ project has been presented to the commission of EXPO-2017 and has been highly appraised by experts. “Tourists are always surprised and delighted by the national colouring, that is why we decided to create a project in the style of a Kazakh aul”, says Marat Kyrykbayevich. In the opinion of scholars and students rendering services in the national style should become a brand and a visiting card of our country. Thus guests would have a good opportunity to get acquainted with the culture and living style of Kazakh people.

According to the head of the innovation project, the associate professor of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, Kabidolla Kaskirbayev, the young people not only tended to solve the urgent problem of placing, but they also tried to create the most favorable conditions for guests’ relaxation. “Students offer the complex placing of objects of after sales and domestic services, cultural and entertainment centers, sleeping buildings with dining blocks”, says Kabidolla Kystaubayevich.

According to one of the project authors, student Botagoz Kamidolla, it is planned to construct two-storeyed collapsible log buildings with over 1500 places for guests, which may be used at other events as well. Students offer to use wood as the main construction material. “Owing to the complex location of objects in an EXPOaul guests would be able to escape the fuss peculiar to a city. Water alleys, shady arbours would create the atmosphere of comfort and peace”, says Botagoz.

A building designed in the manner of a Kazakh yurta with a special interior would be situated in the center of EXPOaul under the dome, where real Kazakh families would demonstrate national customs. Here national skilled craftsmen would also demonstrate national arts in an online mode. The presence of a restaurant, café, pavilions with national products would make it available for guests to use services right at the place. Besides that, on the territory of the aul guests would be able to buy hand-made goods from craftsmen of national arts themselves, who would work in front of a customer. The concerts of creative collectives would be held at the Summer Concert Hall.

A kumys farm and a horse riding base would be situated on the territory of the aul. Here guests would be able not only to taste kumys, but also to get acquainted with the process of its production and to ride a horse. EXPOauls would be situated around suburban villages of Astana. Thus the problem of 250 countrymen’s employment would be solved. It is supposed that the same number of employees would work in each aul.

All necessary infrastructure and services would be provided. During the EXPO students offer to use solar collectors installed on the roofs of buildings and a non dam mini hydroelectric power station of PSU.

In students’ opinion, conduction of EXPO is a great opportunity to demonstrate cultural peculiarities of the state. They are sure that the town designed for guests’ placing will raise the level of interest of tourists to our country.
