Pavlodar Zhastar Kuramasy, a KVN team of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, won two awards at Zhasybai Tolkyny Festival.
The annual Zhasybai Tolkyny KVN festival was held in Bayanaul. PSU's team (Pavlodar Zhastar Kuramasy) won 2 cups. There were 22 teams from all over the country with students from Astana, Almaty, Pavlodar, Karaganda, East Kazakhstan, South Kazakhstan and Akmola regions. This year, the festival was held in 2 languages. The team representing S. Toraighyrov PSU showed great results.
From the very first minutes of their performance, members of PSU’s teams took the audience by storm with their sparkling jokes. Even though the weather was cold, the atmosphere of the entire event was very warm. In their jokes, students brought up many problems from our every-day life, some of the things everyone can relate to. The PSU team won the title of vice-champions of the competition held in the Kazakh language, having lost to the team representing Almaty by a narrow margin.
The second stage was held in Russian. This time, Pavlodar Zhastar Kuramasy left no chance for the other teams and rightfully won the champions' cup. Many guests of the festival were surprised by the fact that the PSU team could play equally well in Russian and Kazakh.
According to the team's captain, Olzhas Konratbayev, they are now preparing for Zhaidarman, an event that will take place in Astana in August. Members of Pavlodar Zhastar Kuramasy are also planning to take part in the upcoming KVN festival in Sochi. “I think it’s too early now to talk about the trip to Sochi, but the Rector of PSU has already assured us that he is ready to support the team,” said Olzhas.
The support from the University management and love from the fans inspire the team for even bigger achievements!
