According to the National (General) Ranking of Universities for 2015, S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University has once again been listed among top 5 multidisciplinary Universities of our country.

Pavlodar State University has retained its position among the leaders of the national higher education system. For the fifth time in a row, PSU was ranked fifth in the list of the best universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, thus confirming its high status.

The main objective of the Ranking is to help prospective students make the right choice from a vast number of various institutions of higher education and give a rational motivation for investing in education.

The National (General) Ranking is based on such indicators as the quality of academic staff's work, number of students and their academic performance, research and innovation activities, international cooperation, and the opinion of employers and the general public.

S. Toraighyrov PSU is the largest University of the region; it combines classical principles with new educational programs. Step by step, the University is constantly improving its educational, scientific, organizational and social positions, forming an innovative educational environment, thereby confirming the high status of an innovation-oriented university.

Now, as Kazakhstan's system of higher education is seeking to integrate into the international education space, participation and good results in various rankings are of exceptional importance.

“We have been working closely with employers and the academic community. PSU has significantly expanded cooperation with research and educational institutions, state-owned and private companies. There has been a significant increase in the number of publications by PSU's academic staff members. However, it is too early to expect a sharp rise in terms of citation intensity. We know from the experience of our international experts and consultants that research papers often reach their citation peak two or three years after publication,” said Aryn Orsariyev.

The Rector of S. Toraighyrov PSU added that the University considers participation in such rankings important and carefully analyzes its positions.

“Rankings provide important information regarding the external evaluation of the University by the international academic community and various social groups. By comparing our University with other higher education institutions of the Republic, we get a real picture of where we are now. Today's result is only one step on our way towards high positions in world rankings, and we still have a lot of work to do for the implementation of our ambitious plans,” said the Rector.
