Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic in the Republic of Kazakhstan, His Excellency Francis Etienne visited S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.

The purpose of his visit was to learn more about S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University and discuss the prospects of cooperation in the field of education. During this visit, Francis Etienne and Aryn Orsariyev inaugurated the newly-established Center of the French Language and Culture.

According to Aryn Orsariyev, this Center will provide opportunities for an in-depth study of the French language to all students of Pavlodar State University. “Owing to this Center, our students will be able to read classical literature in French, as well as translations of works by famous French writers. Establishment of this Center is of great importance for students who dream to study French,” he said.

His Excellency Francis Etienne thanked the staff of Pavlodar State University for the attention paid to his country and the French language. He wished success to employees of the Center of the French Language and Culture. “I am sure that this Center will contribute to the strengthening of friendship and cooperation between Kazakhstan and France,” said the Ambassador.

Aryn Orsariyev and Francis Etienne also discussed some issues of long-term cooperation in the field of education and research between Pavlodar State University and higher education institutions in France, namely double degree programs, joint programs, teaching French at secondary schools, and student exchange programs.
