PSU now has its own parachuting team – it was founded with the support of the Parachuting Federation of Pavlodar region.
PSU students opened their first parachuting season by jumping out of an airplane for the first time ever. This time, they jumped from the height of 800 meters, but next time they plan to go even higher.
According to Zhaudat Ableyev, Director of Sunkar (S. Toraighyrov PSU sports club), the University has created all conditions for students to realize their potential to the fullest by offering a wide range of activities. In order to ensure comprehensive development of its students, the University needs to do more than just organizing the learning process - it also must provide opportunities for active leisure and sports. All students had a chance to try parachute-jumping, but first they had to go through a medical examination and a five-day training course. “Our students are famous for their victories in various sports gained both in our country and abroad, so I am sure that they will also achieve high results in parachuting,” said Zhaudat Ableyev.
Gulnara Zhingulova, an undergraduate student of Pavlodar State University, shared the impressions of her first parachute jump ever. “At first, it feels a bit scary, but then you get a feeling that you are flying like a bird, and this really takes your breath away. You can touch the sky with your hands, and I think that this is something that every person should try at least once in a lifetime,” said Gulnara.
Another undergraduate student from PSU, Ruslan Meraliyev, believes that parachuting perfectly fits everyone who enjoys extreme entertainment. Students received a great energy boost and a good dose of adrenaline. The team is grateful to the Parachuting Federation of Pavlodar region for professional organization of the event. “We really enjoyed it! We will continue practicing to become professionals in this sport. Join us, friends! Make your first steps to a new breathtaking adventure, new friends and a vibrant student life,” said Ruslan.
Now parachute jumpers from PSU are looking forward to their next chance to test their courage, bravery, and strength of mind and will.
