A Roundtable Conference on New Kazakhstan Patriotism as Viewed by Young People took place in the Academic Council Sessions Hall of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.
The purpose of the event is to promote the ideological basis of the new Kazakhstan patriotism, identify the most effective forms and methods for its popularization among young people.
The Conference was organized by the Regional Scientific and Practical Center for the Study of Inter-Ethnic and Inter-Faith Processes of S. Toraighyrov PSU and the Department of Social and Human Disciplines of the University.
The Conference began with a report on Kazakhstan Patriotism, Its Current Status, Problems and Development Prospects by Arman Yeshmuratov, Candidate of Historical Sciences, First Deputy Chairman of the Pavlodar city branch of Nur Otan. Adlet Meyramov and Temirlan Akhmetov shared their vision of patriotic education. The Conference was also attended by Viktoriya Khuako, a specialist of the Regional Office for Youth Affairs, Vice-Deans of faculties, Heads of departments, staff members, undergraduate and graduate students, as well as members of groups on religious literacy improvement.
“Today's event clearly shows that our students are concerned about the problem of patriotism development. It is particularly gratifying to see that young people are ready not only to participate, but also to initiate large undertakings. We believe that our University will become a real school of life, that will help them get vital knowledge not only in their professions, but also in other important aspects of life,” said Nurzhamal Tyshkanova, the Director of the Regional Scientific and Practical Center for the Study of Inter-Ethnic and Inter-Faith Processes.
Students made interesting and informative reports containing particular proposals on the organization of events promoting implementation of the idea of the new Kazakhstan patriotism. Dauren Shamshiden, a third-year student of the Faculty of Business and Law, proposed to hold meetings with famous fellow-countrymen whose achievements bring international respect to our country (Marat Zhylanbayev, Ilya Ilyin, etc.). Madina Sagyndyk, a third-year student of the Faculty of Humanities and Education majoring in Psychology, suggested to hold photo exhibitions of achievements made by students and academics of PSU in the main hall on the first floor. Participants of the Conference also decided to initiate a drawing competition entitled “The Best Profession” for undergraduate and post-graduate students of all faculties.
At the end of the Roundtable Conference, a resolution was adopted.
