S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University held competitions in boxing and basketball for its students.

A boxing competition in memory of R.G. Vakhitov, an honored coach of the Kazakh SSR, took place at PSU. It brought together strongest boxers of the University. The competition was held in 10 weight categories. Raukhat Ramazanov (NGD-102) was the best in the competition for boxers under 56 kg. Kosay Daulet (ORzhOSh-101) won the main prize of the competition for boxers under 60 kg. Adilkhan Alzhan (NGD-102) defeated Rizabek Baiz (MT-101) and won the competition for boxers under 64 kg. Gaziz Akayev (MS-302) was the best boxer under 91 kg. He defeated Boris Antonenko (PR-102) in the final fight.

The competition was organized and held on a very high level. Sunkar sports club has a new modern boxing ring and other sporting infrastructure.

The final game of the basketball competition featured the teams representing the Faculty of Humanities and Education and the Faculty of Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering and Transport. The final match between the two best teams was really exciting and it was nearly impossible to tell who's going to win until the very end. In the end, the Faculty of Humanities and Education celebrated a well-deserved victory, while the team representing the Faculty of Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering and Transport finished second. Semi-finalists of the competition were the teams of the Faculty of Architecture and Construction and the Faculty of Business and Law.

Active members of the Committee on Youth Affairs of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University also held a volleyball competition for students of the University.

Teams representing 6 faculties took part in the competition. The team of the Faculty of Humanities and Education won the main prize, the Faculty of Energy Engineering finished second, while the team representing the Faculty of Agricultural Technology took the third place.

After the end of all competitions, there was an awarding ceremony where the best teams and players received diplomas and prizes.
