A Gala Matriculation Ceremony was held for PSU freshmen at the Palace of Culture named after Yestay on October 21, 2014.

Creative teams of the Student Philharmonic and PSU students took part in the concert program.

Rector of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Serik Omirbayev congratulated University's freshmen on the beginning of their student life. According to him, today's youth is the scientific potential of the country and its future intellectual elite. 'I am sure that you will have no problems in getting used to the educational process at PSU, show your best qualities, and realize your creative potential to the maximum. With all my heart, I wish you success in your studies. I hope you will find true friends here and have a bright student life. Always set high and noble goals. At this University, you have the opportunity to become competitive, successful and in-demand specialists in your respective fields,' said Serik Omirbayev.

From October 8 to 17, 2014, there was a competition among the faculties of the University. The most active faculties were awarded diplomas and letters of appreciation. The third-place diploma and a prize for artistry were awarded to the Faculty of Humanities and Education.

Members of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Natural Sciences received the second-place diploma for non-traditional form of holding the event and its originality. The first-place diploma was awarded to the Faculty of Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering and Transport. The Faculty of Agricultural Technology won the Grand Prix.

S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University is one of the leaders of Kazakhstan's science. It has been listed mong the top 5 multidisciplinary universities of our Republic for 4 years in row.
