As a part of the program for development of dual education at S. Toraighyrov PSU, students of the Faculty of Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering and Transport had a meeting with administration of the Department of Human Resource Management and engineers of KSP Steel LLP, the largest metallurgical company of the region.
The main objective of the dual education system is to improve competitiveness of the University’s students by means of ensuring parallel education at S. Toraighyrov PSU and leading industrial companies of our region.
The Department of Metallurgy has been successfully realizing its dual education program in cooperation with KSP Steel LLP since the 2012-2013 academic year. Students majoring in Metallurgy and Technological Machines and Equipment have practical and laboratory classes in special disciplines (Steel Electrometallurgy, Out-of-Furnace Melt Processing, Rolling, Metal-forming Machines, Mechanical Equipment for Metal Production, Rolling Technology, Pipe and Tube Production Technology) taught right at the production shops, laboratories and training center of KSP Steel LLP.
Besides, this year, for the first time in its history, the Department of Metallurgy held the defense of students' graduation projects at KSP Steel LLP.
This meeting was attended by the Head of the Department of Professional Training Nailya Zagrutdinova, Head of the Department of Planning and Personnel Management Galiya Usenova, senior master of the Electric-Furnace Melting Shop Igor Pavlov, and industrial engineer of Rolling Production Damir Shakenov.
Students of Pavlodar State University had an opportunity to personally communicate with their prospective employers, learn about their requirements, the state of the labor market, and current vacancies.
According to the Head of the Department of Human Resource Management Svetlana Kaydash, cooperation between S. Toraighyrov PSU and KSP Steel LLP within the dual education program helps the Company get highly-skilled specialists who have all necessary competencies for successful work.
