The Erasmus+ information session was held at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University on September 23, 2014.
According to the coordinator of the Programme in Kazakhstan Shayzada Tasbulatova, the main purpose of the event is to inform potential applicants about the conditions of participation in the Programme and give some practical recommendations.
Opening the event, the Rector of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Serik Omirbayev noted that Pavlodar State University is developing in the context of the European higher education area being its full participant. Serik Omirbayev also noted that participation is such programmes helps build the capacity of educational institutions in terms of compliance to international standards, improvement of the quality and competitiveness of the services offered on the educational market.
Erasmus+ is one of the programmes of the European Union for the exchange and cooperation in the field of higher education aimed at improving the quality of European higher education and promoting dialogue and understanding between people and cultures through cooperation with third countries. Erasmus+ brings together the Erasmus Mundus and Tempus programmes.
It should be noted that the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) selected three projects submitted by members of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University (Tempus VI, October 2013). The University also has a Tempus Projects Center.
The information session was attended by deans, heads of departments, academic staff and graduate students of the University. The session included explanation of the structure and types of projects, the process of applications selection, and key actions. Besides, the Programme coordinator Shayzada Tasbulatova told about credit mobility, joint master's programs, Marie Sklodowska-Curie doctoral programs and Jean Monnet program.
