Member of S. Toraighyrov PSU, Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor Orazbike Ibrayeva took part in the session of the Council for Science and Engineering entitled “Business, Science and Technology Determine Technological Tasks in the Field of Mining and Metallurgical Complex on the Threshold of the Second Five-Year Period of Industrialization” (Astana).

The event was organized by National Agency for Technological Development JSC in collaboration with the Association of Mining and Metallurgical Companies of RK.

The meeting brought together members of the business community (represented by heads of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgical plants and mining companies of Kazakhstan) and researchers, members of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MINT), MES of RK, and National Agency for Technological Development JSC.

11 best research projects were selected from 118 projects from all over the Republic. A PSU member, Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Professor Orazbike Ibrayeva is among the winners with 2 projects: “Technology for Processing High-Moisture Iron-Bearing Technogenic Waste to Produce Iron-Carbon Alloys and Secondary Raw Materials for Steel Production” and “Technology of Non-Fired Agglomeration of Wet Waste Coal to Produce Fundamentally New High Quality Solid Fuel and Composite Deoxidizer for Metallurgical Processes”.

Orazbike Ibrayeva noted in her speech that such dialogue platforms act as a communicator between science and business, which, in its turn, contributes to the development of a specific action plan for the introduction of new technologies.

'The results of laboratory studies provide opportunities to establish new production plants and create new technologies for production of marketable products from industrial waste products. This way we can solve not only the problems of material resources, but also the environmental problems of the mining and metallurgical complex,' stressed Orazbike Ibrayeva.

She also took part in the AMM exhibition within the V Anniversary International Congress “Astana Mining & Metallurgy” - AMM 2014, where she had an opportunity to learn about the companies and organizations producing innovative products and their technologies.
