A meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the National Space Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Meyrbek Moldabekov took place in S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University on March 14, 2014.
Full member of the International Academy of Astronautics visited PSU in order to explain the Address by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Kazakhstan's Way-2050: a Common Goal, Common Interests and Common Future”.
The meeting was attended by the University administration, teaching staff members, and students.
M. Moldabekov emphasized in his speech that the space industry is the main driving force of the world's innovative and technological development. He also told about the work carried out by Kazkosmos in terms of the tasks specified in the Presidential Address.
In particular, he explained two strategic directions of the Agency's work: creation and development of space infrastructure and development of scientific and technological basis of space activities.
According to Meyrbek Moldabekov, these strategic fields of the Agency's activity provide for implementation of a number of space projects as a part of the Industrialization Map, namely, construction of the complex for spacecraft assembly and testing, establishment of a space system for remote scanning of the RK territory, KazSat satellite communication and broadcasting system, and ground infrastructure of the high-precision satellite navigation system.
Answering the questions asked by participants of the meeting, M. Moldabekov emphasized that all major space industry research projects conducted in the Republic of Kazakhstan are aimed at subsequent establishment of the National Space Centre by the example of the world's leaders in the space industry.
At the end of the event, the Rector of S. Toraighyrov PSU, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Serik Omirbayev thanked Meyrbek Moldabekov for his full and clear presentation of the development priorities in the space industry of our country.
