A scientific and practical seminar entitled “Information Field of the Region and the Role of the Saryaka Samaly Newspaper” dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the date of its establishment was held at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.

The seminar was attended by the administration of the University, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Journalism of S. Toraighyrov PSU Kyrykbay Aldabergenov, Chief Editor of Saryarka Samaly Asyl Abish, President of the Academy of Journalist of Kazakhstan Sagymbay Kozybayev, Head of the Almaty City Office of the Press Service of the President of the RK Valeriy Zhandauletov, Chief Editor of the Aykyn republican newspaper Nurtore Zhusip, Director of the Shyghys Akparat media holding Nurzhan Kuantay (Ust-Kamenogorsk), Chief Editor of Alash Aynasy Serik Zhanbolat, Chief Editor of the Aybyn republican magazine Sagidolla Koshimbayev, Director of Baygamut municipal national Kazakh school, Titov prize winner, member of the Journalists' Union of Russia Saparbek Mausymbayev (Republic of Altay).

Sagymbay Kozymbayev, Valery Zhandauletov, Kyrykbay Aldabergenov, Saparbek Mausymbayev told about 85 years of history of the newspaper and the stages of its development.

Kyrykbay Aldabergenov emphasized long and fruitful work of the newspaper team members, ‘Since the moment of its establishment, Saryarka Samaly has become a megaphone for full and objective coverage of all regional events. The newspaper has become a perfect link between the people and the government’.

Besides of that, famous Kazakh journalists Nurtore Zhusip, Serik Zhanbolat, Sagidolla Koshimbayev, Nurzhan Kuantay held a master class “The Art of Journalism” for young journalists.

The event was followed by the roundtable discussion entitled “Kazakhstan Journalism - Ways of Development and Problems” attended by members of the Department of Journalism of PSU Zh.I. Mananbayev, K.N. Kanapyanov, Zh.B. Ibrayeva, K.S. Iskakov, and M.A. Ibrayev. The participants of the discussion gave a detailed analysis of work of modern media at the current stage of Kazakhstani journalism development.
