On January 8-9, 2014, S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University hosted the regional stage of the National Academic Olympics in general subjects for school students.
It has already become a good tradition to hold the regional academic olympics in PSU - the region's largest universtiy. Excitement was in the air during the olympics. Students, teachers and parents were all nervous, because the academic olympics show the best students who continue competing for the main prize within the regional team at the national level. This is the future intellectual elite of the country.
In order to support talented school students, the University administration has decided to award special grants to the academic olympics winners. 5 grants were allocated for the winners in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and the history of Kazakhstan.
The winners received their grants from Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of S. Toraighyrov PSU, Doctor of Pedagogic Sciences, Professor N.E. Pfeifer. She noted that, owing to such academic olympics, every year we become closer to the ideal of intellectual nation proclaimed by our President. After congratulating young intellectuals, Nelli Pfeifer emphasized that PSU will continue to support future participants and winners of the National Academic Olympics.
Special grants from PSU were awarded to Marat Abubakir (Zhas Daryn specialized school) for the first place in Physics; Murat Tleukhanov (the Regional Kazakh-Turkish Male Lyceum-Boarding School for Gifted Children) for the first place in Chemistry; Anuar Kabidenov (school-lyceum named after Abay) for the first place in Mathematics; Nazgul Kairbayeva (Regional Boarding School for Gifted Children named after I. Altynsarin) for the first place in the History of Kazakhstan; Aydos Bolatov (Regional Boarding School for Gifted Children named after I. Altynsarin) for the first place in Biology.
