On the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, S. Toraighyrov PSU held a festive event dedicated to the establishment of a primary organization of journalists of the region (a branch of the Journalists Union of the Republic of Kazakhstan).

The decision on establishment of a primary organization of the Journalists Union of the Republic of Kazakhstan was adopted at the first meeting of the veteran-journalists club of Pavlodar region at the Department of Journalism of Pavlodar State University.

An Honorary Journalist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the regional branch of the Journalists Union of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yuriy Pominov, Director of the Center of Analytical Information LLP Zhumabek Smanov, Editor-in-chief of Zvezda Priirtyshya (regional newspaper) Vladimir Dolgushev were invited to the event.

The gist of this primary organization activity is strengthening the communication with and feedback from the journalists of our region. The main task is representing the interests and protection of the rights and professional reputation of regional journalists, organization of their education and advanced training, improvement of their working and living conditions, recreatinon, providing social security to media workers.

The Head of the Department of Journalism at S. Toraighyrov PSU, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, member of the Writers Union of Kazakhstan Kyrykbay Aldabergenov emphasized the significance of this event and noted that “it is necessary to maintain high standards of regional mass media. One of the main factors for this is establishment of a primary organization providing decent working conditions to journalists of the region”.
